When you're a parent of newborn twins, you become a scheduling master pretty quickly.
You keep your babies on the same schedule, as much as you reasonably can, because, let's be serious, it's just not always possible to keep your new little humans on the exact same schedule all the time.
But when the stars align and your babies' nap schedules align, too, you can take advantage of a solid chunk of synchronized time to kick back and relax (read: race around the house to empty and re-load the dishwasher, catch up on that teetering pile of teeny tiny laundry, and, if you're REALLY lucky, even wash your mess of a hair before you hear your dynamic duo stirring from their mid-day siesta).
But, the truth is, when you have twin babies, their schedules don't always twin with one another.
One might sleep, like, well, a baby, and the other might have a terrible sleep that then throws off their entire next day and puts their wake windows totally out of whack.
On those days, you'd have to look at your usual schedule, guess at when they might maybe want to possibly take a nap, and then pray to the sleep gods that you weren't just going through the motions when doing the pre-nap routine.
But now, there's no more guessing.

If you use Nanit's Pro Baby Monitor, which we do, and we love (you can read all about that, here), then you already know that this monitor collects metrics to provide a clear overview of each babies' sleep, so you can track patterns.
Now, the newly launched NextNap feature can swoop in to save the day, offering schedule predictability after a particularly rough night or as you try to navigate major milestones with your twins, like recognizing when it's time to drop a nap (all twin parents have asked themselves if both are ready for this transition at the same time; now, you no longer need to wonder.).
What is NextNap?

Designed and tested by expert sleep researchers, including pediatric sleep expert Dr. Natalie Barnett, who is currently the vice-president of clinical research at Nanit, NextNap recently rolled out as the latest feature available within the Nanit app for all Pro Baby Monitors that have a Milestones or Memories Plan subscription.
It's an AI tool that uses your babies' individual sleep data to predict daily personalized nap times tailored to each of your babies' needs. It learns from your babies' unique sleep patterns and adjusts as they grow, completely removing the guesswork from your twins' wake windows, which is already hard enough to keep track of.
All you have to do is open the app, navigate to the Activity tab and tap on the NextNap banner along the top of the screen, and then input their bed time, their wake time, and ther number of daily naps they take.
With these details, and by studying their separate sleep data, NextNap is able to optimize their individual sleep schedules and maximize your free time.
You'll even get wind-down notifications ahead of your children's customized nap windows, giving you ample warning to hit the sweet spot for each of your children's naps.

The benefits of sleep science

By harnessing the power of NextNap's sleep science, you, as a parent, can regain control over your twins' sleep schedules.
Nanit's centralized sleep tracking streamlines communication among all caregivers who can access the app.
This means everyone can plan around NextNap's personalized predictions for your babies, and, more importantly, that you can say goodbye to double the sleep struggles and twice the meltdowns that used to be caused by overtiredness.
