If you've ever seen a set of twins "out in the wild" and it made you do a double-take, imagine what it's like seeing two thousand different sets of twins all in one place.
That's exactly what'll be happening this weekend at the annual Twins Days Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio.
Recognized by Guinness World Records as the Largest Annual Gathering of Twins in the World, the 51st annual celebration will run from August 8 to 9, in Twinsburg, about 25 miles southeast of Cleveland.
A global event
What began in 1976 as a small community celebration has evolved into a globally recognized event that welcomes over 2,000 sets of registered twins and multiples each year.
The festival draws attendees, researchers, and media from around the world, offering a rare opportunity to explore the cultural, scientific, and social dimensions of twinship.

While the event centers on twins and multiples, non‑twins are welcome to attend and experience the unique atmosphere that has made Twins Days an international phenomenon.
This year's theme is "Totally Two‑bular," taking twins back to the neon‑soaked 1980s.
Attendees are encouraged to embrace the bold style that saturated the decade, from vibrant tracksuits and shoulder pads, to iconic pop‑culture looks, all while celebrating twinship with double the color, double the creativity, and double the fun.
Festival schedule
The weekend opens on Saturday, August 8 with the festival's signature Double-Take Parade.
The rest of the day is filled with twin contests and talent showcases, twin research opportunities, group photo sessions, live entertainment, arts and crafts and themed vendor booths, and fireworks.
Concessions and festival merchandise will be available throughout the day.
On Sunday, August 9, things kick off with the Twins Days 5K Run and Fun Walk, which benefits Empower Sports.
Daytime activities mirror those offered on Saturday, with the added fun of bingo and a twins volleyball tournament.
Note: The parade and fireworks are Saturday‑only events.
Trek to Twinsburg
Are you planning to head to Twinsburg, Ohio to take part in the Twins Days Festival this weekend?
We cannot wait to take our own twins to this event when they're a bit older (hopefully, next year!). And, when we make the trek to Twinsburg, we'll plan to bring my own twin brother, plus the other set of twins in our family, for a weekend focused fully on twinship.
Twins and higher-order multiples are encouraged to register to participate in festival activities and to be included in the official annual count.
You can register online at twinsdays.org and onsite during the festival weekend.
